Optics

Dodgen Optical manufactures a variety of first surface mirrors. We specialize in off-axis parabolas, but also manufacture other aspheres and plano mirrors. Mirrors are manufactured to the customer's specification. Interferometric testing is performed on the mirrors to verify performance, and test data is available to the customer upon request. All non-metal materials can be worked, including Pyrex and low-expansion materials.

Off-Axis Parabolas (OAP)

Dodgen Optical specializes in precision, fast, and far off-axis mirrors, and can work most blanks to your specifications. OAP's can be manufactured from 1 cm to 1.25 meters (50 Inches) for the parent mirror. We primarily manufacture parent mirrors, and core the off-axis section, but can make stand-alone OAP's as well. Tolerances up to lambda/20 are achievable, and f/#'s as low as f/1 are routinely made. Scratch-dig is typically 60-40, but can be as low as 20-10. The optical axis is marked on the back and sides of all mirrors for alignment purposes. Please contact us for pricing, delivery, and availability.

Plano (Flats)

Dodgen Optical manufactures large elliptical flats as well as rectangular flats. Plano mirrors are all custom-made, and range in size from 15 cm to 1 meter. All flats are interferometrically tested for surface accuracy. Please contact us for pricing, delivery, and availability.

Aspherics

Dodgen Optical manufactures ellipses, hyperbolas, and parabolas. Parabolas can be on-axis or off-axis mirrors. Please contact us for pricing, delivery, and availability.

Coating

Dodgen Optical uses reliable coating houses to coat the mirrors; however, mirrors can be shipped uncoated at the customer’s request. Protected aluminum, silver, or gold coatings are available. Dielectric coatings are also available. Please contact us for pricing, delivery, and availability.
